Achievement Awards

International Performing Arts & Theatre leads one of the most exciting and challenging Achievement Award systems (Medal Tests), which provides all of its candidates a sense of achievement. This performance based awards system gives candidates the chance to perform in front of an adjudicator and small audience, developing their performance skills and increasing confidence.

Discipline Categories 

  • Classical Dance (Ballet, Contemporary, Lyrical, National, Cultural)
  • Theatre Dance (Jazz, Tap, Acrobatic, Character, Bollywood)
  • Urban Dance (Commercial, Street Dance, Hip Hop, Break Dance, Whacking, Vogueing, Freestyle)
  • Musical Theatre (These can include any Musical Theatre genre of either song & dance or singing)
  • Acting (These can include any acting genre of either Classical Drama, Modern Drama or Comedy)

Requirements for Rosettes, Medals and Stars

One performance piece from one of the discipline categories must be performed in either a classroom with the candidate’s teacher present or in front of an audience. Teachers can enter candidates for up to five awards.

Requirements for Shields and Statuettes 

Two contrasting performance pieces from one of the discipline categories must be performed (i.e. in Classical Dance it could be one ballet dance and one national dance), in either a classroom with the candidate’s teacher present or in front of an audience. Teachers can enter candidates for up to five awards.

Requirements for Glass Award, Crystal Award and Founders Award

Three contrasting performance pieces from one of the discipline categories must be performed (i.e. in Musical Theatre the candidate could perform one ballad song, one upbeat song and one song and dance), in either a classroom with the candidate’s teacher present or in front of an audience. Teachers can enter candidates for up to five awards.
